Kelsey and Jason’s Vancouver Rowing Club wedding was one for the history books! I knew straightaway from their engagement session that we were in for one incredibly fun day and it did not dissapoint!
First of all the wedding took place in the heart of Stanley Park, a personal favourite of mine. We were spoiled with stunning west coast backdrops at every turn. Moreover, the day offered incredible food, dear loved ones, and a plethora of paper cranes bringing a sense of fun to every moment.
To begin with, the day started at Kelsey’s family home for door games. Following some banter at the door Jason and his party were subjected to a variety of challenges. I’m still laughing at Jason’s face when each test was unveiled. Despite the trials there was a lot of fun throughout. Afterward, there was a tender first look and a traditional tea ceremony to honor Jason and Kelsey’s family. Soon after we left for Stanley Park to capture portraits along the beaches and in the stunning treed backdrops. Indeed, Stanley Park is truly one of the most special places in Vancouver. I’m always so happy to share it with my clients!
Later on, the ceremony took place on the deck at the Vancouver Rowing Club in the late afternoon sunshine. Watching these two exchange vows surrounded by the love of their friends and family was truly amazing. There were tears, laughs, and a surprisingly epic bubble exit. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the audience. In fact, we all laughed along with them as they spoke of their love and connection.
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour against the beautiful backdrop of Vancouver’s downtown skyline. Afterward, they headed inside for dinner and later dancing. I’m still blown away by their handmade centerpieces journaling the years of their relationship. These brought their guests unquestionably into the story of their love. From beginning to end, there were so many personal touches. They undeniably showed who they are to each other and how much they love every person who was there to celebrate with them.
Kelsey and Jason, it was truly an honor to capture your wedding day and witness the love that surrounds you! Thank you for hiring me to document every special moment!
